PDF Documentation

Today we decided to add functionality to the website that will automatically create and update our PDF Documentation when a release is made. This allows for users to take the documentation with them, whether they have an internet connection or not. To view the PDF Documentation, simply go to the Documentation page and click the link at the top.

While Anthony Cyphers, the owner here at GraffitiSuite.com, was taking his holiday break, he put together a simple example. It’s a quick and dirty way to animate some snowfall on an image in Real Studio. It’s a nice read and an even better effect, and just might be helpful in a project for some of you. He also put together a simple example for rain, that he assures us will someday make its way to his blog as well.

New Pricing for a New Year

JOHNSON CITY, TN (January 14, 2013) GraffitiSuite gets new pricing for 2013.

Beginning today, GraffitiSuite has much altered its subscriptions. Previously, an annual subscription to our encrypted package would cost $159.95 which has now been lowered to $149.95. Our source code package, previously available annually for $609.95 will now be available for the low price of $299.95.

“Our hope is that these changes encourage the community to keep the classes up-to-date with the IDE”, said Anthony G. Cyphers, Sole Proprietor. “We have made a lot of changes to GraffitiSuite over the last two years, and some of those changes have required using the version of the IDE that had just been released. Looking in to the future, the IDE is likely to change a great deal in the coming years and regular updates may be necessary to keep the classes functioning properly from one release to the next.”

The new pricing is now available from the GraffitiSuite website. Third-party store prices, such as the Real Software store, may differ.

Release 11: New Class and Tons of Fixes

JOHNSON CITY, TN (December 31, 2012) GraffitiSuite gets one new class, and more bug fixes.

GraffitiSlider has been introduced as part of GraffitiSuite. This new class offers single and ranged values with 10 visual styles to choose from. Also part of this release is more than 300 changes to GraffitiSuite including bug fixes and analysis cleanup.

Current Known Issues

There is an issue with the product downloads where there are some images missing. This will be rectified when we release for December (in just a few days).

The Demo application also exhibits an error on Windows that app.GDIPlus must be enabled. We’re not quite sure what caused this setting to revert to FALSE, but it will also be fixed for the next release.

Web Site Fixes

Tonight we addressed a few issues with our website. Recently, people whose accounts had expired could no longer extend their subscription period without contacting us. Tonight we modified the web site in such a way that all expired users may now log in to the web site and upgrade or renew their account.

Another issue we addressed was in reaching the downloads after purchasing a subscription package. Now, when you have completed payment, you will be redirected to the Products page, when your download link will be visible on the right-hand side.

Have You Seen This?
We’ve gotten reports over the last few years about project analysis from the IDE. The main one being that the IDE will drop a scan if it hits an error in an encrypted class. We reported this some time ago to RS, but, if I remember correctly, they said it was by design. So, when you see this…

You need to open a new project and force an analyze error. You then need to change what is reported. The main ones are the Unused Parameters and Unused Variables. Anything else, if reported by Analyze about GraffitiSuite, would need to be reported.

So, how do you force an analyze error in a new project? Well, it’s really easy. We’ll start-up a new desktop project, add a class with Canvas as the super, and add the following code anywhere except the Paint event.

Dim g As Graphics = me.Graphics

From there, just go to Project > Analyze, and you’ll get the analysis results screen. The button on the top-left of that tab allows you to select what is reported by the Analyze engine.
